Thanks to the unique design of its roll cage, the cockpit in the MINI John Cooper Works WRC is one of the most spacious and safest in world rallying. Driver and co-driver are restrained in lightweight competition seats with six point harnesses and HANS head restraints. The dashboard retains the characteristic design found in all MINI road cars, but in the MINI John Cooper Works WRC it is made from lightweight carbon fibre composite. The driver also has no speedometer or rev counter, in rallying all that is needed is a large digital readout displaying the gear and a light to tell the driver when to shift gear. This minimal information allows the driver to concentrate on the road ahead and the pace-notes coming from the co-driver.
