Dani Sordo

Dani Sordo has been a regular in the FIA World Rally Championship for many a year. The Spaniard is undoubtedly one of the best drivers in the series. Spain's 2005 FIA Junior World Rally Champion is undoubtedly one of the top drivers in the WRC field. For half a decade Dani drove for the opposition; now, though, he will compete for the new MINI WRC Team with co-driver Carlos del Barrio at his side. Therefore Dani has made the biggest move in a motorsport career which began at the age of 12.

He started in motocross, after that celebrating successes in hillclimbing, karting and touring cars. 2003 saw him make his debut in the WRC on the Rally Catalunya, at the same time winning the Spanish Junior Rally Championship. In 2004 Dani successfully defended the title before going on to dominate both the 2005 Junior World Rally Championship (JWRC) and the main 2005 Spanish Rally Championship. In 2008/2009 he was placed third in the overall FIA WRC classification – as team-mate to champion Sébastien Loeb.
