Over the long history of the Rally Dakar, Stéphane Peterhansel has emerged as the undisputed number one. With eleven victories to his name, the Frenchman is the record winner of the toughest endurance rally in the world, earning him the nickname ‘Mr. Dakar’. Peterhansel won the Dakar six times on motorbikes before switching to four wheels in 1999. He went on to claim a further five overall victories, the most recent of which came at the wheel of one of the X-raid Team’s MINI ALL4 Racings in 2013. The win in 2013 was also the fifth Dakar success for Stéphane’s long-term co-driver Jean-Paul Cottret. Stéphane has always been passionate about motorcycle racing. As well as his outings at the Dakar, he has also been crowned World Enduro Champion on two occasions.
